Arctic Aggressor Maintenance
EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- Tech. Sgt. Clifford Benson, 18th Aircraft Maintenance Unit, re-torks an outer bearing on an F-16 Falcon Jan. 30, 2008, here. Eielson is currently receiving 10 of 21 Block 30s from Kunsan AB, Korea, in exchange for the previous Block 40s. The Eielson maintainers have to assure that the aircraft are able to withstand the constant arctic temperatures and do so by maintaining and changing out worn down parts when necessary.
