NOAA's Arctic mission comes to Eielson

A P3 Orion departs Eielson Air Force Base for a mission over the Arctic Ocean Nov. 6, 2013. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration deployed meteorologists to analyze how the atmosphere responds to ice cover compared to open water and how it may play a direct role in the weather patterns that flow down affecting the continental United States. Members of Eielson Air Force Base provided support for the P3 Orion and NOAA team during their mission. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Ashley Nicole Taylor/Released)
