Power plant operations are electrifying
Marty Overlin, 354th Civil Engineer Squadron central heat and power superintendent, describes what happens in the front side of a boiler to 354th Fighter Wing commanders during a tour of the central heat and power plant Oct. 15, 2013, Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska. The front side of the boiler is where ash is dumped off the traveling grate and dropped into an ash hopper. The ash is then pneumatically conveyed to silos for disposal.
