U.S. participates in RED FLAG-Alaska with ROKAF, JASDF

Four Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) F-15J Eagles prepare to launch for a RED FLAG-Alaska (RF-A) 15-3 sortie at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, Aug. 20, 2015. JASDF and Republic of Korea Air Force units deployed to Eielson along with assorted tanker, transport, fighter and electronic warfare aircraft, and support from multiple U.S. service branches, for RF-A, a series of Pacific Air Forces commander-directed field training exercises for U.S. and partner nation forces, providing combined offensive counter-air, interdiction, close air support, and large force employment training in a simulated combat environment.
