U.S. participates in RED FLAG-Alaska with ROKAF, JASDF

A U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt assigned to the 25th Fighter Squadron from Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, launches for a RED FLAG-Alaska (RF-A) 15-3 sortie at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, Aug. 7, 2015, while a Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) F-16 Fighting Falcon waits on the flightline. ROKAF and Japan Air Self-Defense Force units deployed to Eielson along with assorted tanker, transport, fighter and electronic warfare aircraft and support from multiple U.S. service branches, for RF-A, a series of Pacific Air Forces commander-directed field training exercises for U.S. and partner nation forces, providing combined offensive counter-air, interdiction, close air support, and large force employment training in a simulated combat environment.
