RED FLAG-Alaska 15-3 takes off under cloudy skies
A U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker deployed from Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash., takes off from Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, Aug. 10, 2015, during RED FLAG-Alaska (RF-A) 15-3. Tanker aircraft from multiple units across the Air Force are deployed to Eielson to support other units during RF-A, a series of Pacific Air Forces commander-directed field training exercises for U.S. and partner nation forces, providing combined offensive counter-air, interdiction, close air support and large force employment training in a simulated combat environment.
