RED FLAG-Alaska 15-3 takes off under cloudy skies
U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft with the 25th Fighter Squadron from Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, taxi to Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, runway Aug. 10, 2015, to participate in the first simulated combat sortie of RED FLAG-Alaska (RF-A) 15-3. The Osan A-10s, as well as several F-16 Fighting Falcons from Osan's 36th Fighter Squadron, are deployed to Eielson for RF-A, a series of Pacific Air Forces commander-directed field training exercises for U.S. and partner nation forces, providing combined offensive counter-air, interdiction, close air support, and large force employment training in a simulated combat environment.
