Never too late to teach an ‘old dog’ new tricks
U.S. Marine Corps Stephen Morrison, a Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 314 quality assurance officer, prepares for a June 10, 2016, sortie in the Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex (JPARC) flying in the number nine jet, which holds the highest flying hours in the U.S. Marine Corps F-18A Hornet inventory, during RED FLAG-Alaska (RF-A) 16-2. The exercise provides unique opportunities to integrate various forces into joint, coalition and multilateral training scenarios from simulated forward operating bases in the JPARC, which at more than 67,000 square miles, is the largest instrumented air, ground and electronic combat training range in the world.
