F-35s join Alaskan airpower team
A seven-ship formation of U.S. Air Force F-35A Lightning II and F-22 Raptor fifth-generation fighters, F-16C Fighting Falcon fighters and a KC-135R Stratotanker flies over Alaska April 21, 2020. The formation marks the arrival of the first F-35A aircraft at Eielson Air Force Base, which enables the U.S. Air Force to join the Royal Australian Air Force, the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, and the Republic of Korea Air Force as partner nations with F-35s permanently stationed in the Indo-Pacific region.
