354th CES Airmen use ACE concepts, renovate Birch Lake MRA
U.S. Air Force Capt. Kathryn Iden, the 354th Civil Engineer Squadron Command Support Staff section commander, removes old sealant on a window during a troop training project May 26, 2021, at the Birch Lake Military Recreation Area, Alaska. During projects like this, troops execute 96-hour contingency training which usually involves fixing up a small building or a few playgrounds, but this year the project was significantly larger with approximately 135 Airmen from the squadron participating and over $86,000 of construction and repairs completed.
