EIELSON-SPECIFIC GUIDANCE

DEFINITIONS:

  • RESTRICTION OF MOVEMENT / QUARANTINE:

This status applies to anyone returning from outside the state of Alaska on or after 2 March 2020, or anyone with close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 positive individual. A 14-day quarantine starting the date of return ot Alaska or contact with the positive individual will be in effect. 

  • ISOLATION:

This status will be determined by a physician after a member reports symptoms of cough, fever of 100.4 or greater, or respiratory distress and has had relevant travel or contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19. The member must call 907-377-1847 to make an appointment with a physician. Once tested, member will have no contact with others. Members will not be released from this status unless directed by healthcare personnel. 

TEMPORARY DUTY:

Temporary Duty (TDY) will be approved for mission essential travel only. Mission essential travel will be staffed for approval through 11th Air Force. Individuals should utilize chain of command while coordinating mission essential TDYs.

PERMANENT CHANGE OF STATION:

In accordance with DoD guidance, individuals and family members will not PCS between 16 March and 11 May except on a case-by-case basis. Individuals should contact their chain of command for additional guidance.

LOCAL LEAVE POLICY:

In effect from 16 March until 11 May, all leave outside the state of Alaska is cancelled. Local leave is limited to within a 250-mile radius of Eielson Air Force Base. The Anchorage and Mat-Su Valley areas are specifically not authorized. Any exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis by the first O-6 in an individual’s chain of command. Humanitarian and hardship issues will be staffed through command channels and approved through 11th Air Force.

VISITOR POLICY:

Individuals who are hosting visitors who have traveled from outside of Alaska should assess the CDC travel alerts on high risk locations. If there is considerable concern on exposure to the virus due to visitors, individuals should contact the public health office and notify their chain of command.
